Clementine |
Oh my darling Clementine |
through traffic lights was carried |
past the entrance of the mine |
where someone else was buried. |
One who trespassed on the shore |
by mentioning her diet, |
having spoken twice before |
decided to keep quiet. |
Two pretending not to grieve |
looked down but never leapt, |
smiled as they took their leave, |
and out of touch they kept. |
You once tried to hypnotize |
the moon, but now you see |
every able baby cries |
with such intensity. |
Lastly we all rang the bells |
and practicing austerity |
made a puzzle out of shells |
and left it for posterity. |
